Things to Do in Toronto While Attending ADM

Written by Heather Watson | Oct 2, 2023 3:00:00 PM

I don't know about you but whenever I'm headed to a trade show or conference I try and fit in some time to take in the city. There's nothing worse than being in a city and only ever seeing the hotel and the conference centre.

While I often get into Toronto for various events, I find it's a great city to explore and the live concerts and shows are abundant. In preparation for the Advanced Design and Manufacturing show this November, I've done a bit of research on happenings in town. Here's what's on my list so far but I've not made any specific commitments!

Attend Fleetwood Mac's Rumours Show:

I've said before that I love live music, particularly in smaller venues. Well this one is on top of my list! For fans of classic rock, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours Tour is a must-see. Catch the performance at Massey Hall on November 8th at 8 pm. Immerse yourself in the timeless music of one of the greatest bands in history. Purchase your Fleetwood Mac tickets here.

Leafs v. Sens:

Admittedly, I'm not a big hockey fan. But I do enjoy going to a game every now and then. The Leafs face off with the Sens on November 8th at 7pm. Details are available on the Scotiabank Arena website.

Explore what Mirvish has to offer:

I don't know about you but I'm pretty excited to see Jagged Little Pill, a musical based on the life and career of Alanis Morrisette. Also on stage is Six the Musical and In Dreams. All the shows have matinee and evening performances available. Fun fact, I use to be a subscriber to Mirvish for several years - when not rocking out to metal bands I love a good musical!

Royal Winter Fair:

Aggies unite at the Royal! Given that acorn30 works with both manufacturers and agribusiness we cannot miss the Royal. Where else can you be immersed in agriculture in the heart of the city? If you've not ever been, definitely check out the butter sculptures - beyond words! Get the full show schedule so you can plan your visit on the Royal's website.

Hockey Hall of Fame Induction:

Okay, if you're a hockey fan this one might be worth the extra day in Toronto. The actual induction ceremony is on November 13th however, on Friday, November 10th there's an induction game at Scotiabank Arena Leafs v. Flames. No doubt some of hockey's legends will be floating around town!

No doubt ADM is going to have everybody busy with work. But honestly, it's so important to drink up some of the city while you're in town. If you decide to take in a show or event - let me know what you decided on!
